Default 100NL A high call down, your thought?

Villain is a 31/21 3bet 4.3% fold to cbet 33% over 176 hands
Cold call 29% in BB

No history..

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em $0.20 Ante - 5 players - View hand 1642747
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BTN: $109.93
Hero (SB): $216.87
BB: $254.81
UTG: $396.34
CO: $292.48

Pre Flop: ($2.50) Hero is SB with Q A
3 folds, Hero raises to $3, BB calls $2

Flop: ($7.00) T J 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, BB calls $5

Turn: ($17.00) 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $12.18, Hero calls $12.18

River: ($41.36) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $39.50, Hero ?

I feel like villain would probable 3bet TT and JJ preflop
or raise the flop at least because we are deep and the board is drawy
He would probably raise 66 and TJ on the flop also

he might check back weak jack and 2nd pair on the turn.

SO when he bets, I felt his range on the turn was most likely draws and sometimes Jx, and I thought my AQ high was likely good my pair outs might be good and 2 of my outs make me the nuts. So I called.

When he pot the river nothing make sense, my hand looks extremly weak, maybe a weak Jx hand or Tx hand. If he was value betting he would probably bet smaller with AJ KJ or QJ, or badly played TT JJ, TJ or 66.

Good enough to call?

Also i think if he picked up a pair on the turn or river he'd likely check back the river.

I see the logic that he's def polarised here.

Only trouble is whether he maybe bluffs/mergebets a hand like 67.

Would really like to know more about him first. I don't agree that he doesn't bet Jx like this because I do all the time because people take this line all the time with AQ AK Tx. I also slow play this flop against a lot of regs because they just always auto barrel with a wide preflop raising range so I call the flop a lot anyways so I don't think you can totally discount JT or better. I don't hate call calling. I don't think he turns 76 into a bluff that often so I'm not too worried about that. I am worried that he should know his line looks like bs with everything missing and he still bombs it but maybe that's not his thought process. I'd fold it.

hm Its such an easy valuebet with J9 (i would snap-vbet AT like this) for him. I dont think youre gonna gain a lot by turning your hand face-up like this and playing a guessing game, as he has way too many valuecombos (tons of Jx). I like betting turn and checking some rivers to maybe check-call way more, as this is gonna make it harder for him to vbet the river, and it doesnt turn your hand face-up. If this was a spot where you could eliminate a bunch of Jx preflop i would like your line more.

You've gotta fold here IMO. If you look hard enough for reasons to call you'll probably find some, but that doesnt make it the right play. He should be value betting any jack, and I dont think his range is as polarized as suggested. Because you're in a blind battle he can have a lot of the weak jacks. You'll find much better spots to her call like this when his range is much more polarized.

I guess I would have to play agaisnt someone who cant value bet thinly with bets that big.

But I didnt have that read at the moment.

idk just from playing 25nl 6max on merge there's some regs I would expect to bet Jx like this for value. I'd have to imagine there's a lot of 100nl regs who would do the same thing on stars.

He would have to think that I can call with worst and that if he bets big its looks very bluffy(I guess that would be level 3) or if hes bad he might think his Jx looks pretty pretty good so hes betting big (level 1)

or if hes level 2 wich I thought he was, he thinks that if I call with worst it would agaisnt a smaller bet..
His big bets made me think that he was not value betting thinly, so i thought he was very very polarized.
And for the reason that I said above, TT JJ JT and 66 were unlikely. his range is likely to be bluff heavy.

Just from reading the thread, I would def play some of your stronger Jx this way as it seems to yield more value than value betting w/o history
