Default [200NL] double gutter got raised on the turn, BvB

Villain 20/16. Not very high intensity and fairly straightforward player, likely recognizes that I've been opening over half of the time in the small blind into his big blind. Hasn't been 3betting a lot vs my opens but folding a lot pre.

I think his sizing is pretty lolbad for value and as a bluff. What's his turn raising range and why?

well you said he's straightforward and low intensity, so 9x+ right? why would you do anything other than fold?

Yeah I think you leveled yourself into making a bluff because you felt you were opening a lot so he'd play back. Certainly it's possible he floated and is bluffing but a lot of his floating range hits that turn too so I don't like a c/r unless you think he raises trips on the flop everytime, then you can c/r turn bet river to get him off his whole range. I prefer just betting turn to get him off some things like AT, or 7x because you do have a lot of equity. Bet fold turn since you have double guttter. WIth only a gutter i'd ch/f turn.

Interesting, thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I did level myself into bluffing because I thought he had more incentive to let me bluff rivers when he has a valuehand like 9x. I didn't consider him raising a 9x hand in order to 1) get value and 2) induce 3bet bluffs on a drawy turn.

Given that he showed up with JTo here and raise/called my jam, I'm trying to wrap my head around his thought process for raising it in the first place. So far, I figured the possibilities are that he is doing this 1) to get a cheap showdown and charge my draws 2) to induce bluffs from my draws because he did in fact give me a wide opening and barreling range and thinks I might rebluff vs a showdown raise. I'm not sure whether these are valid lines of thinking I'm giving him here.

I think for you to be able to bluff here, you have to put him on tons of underpairs that are overprotecting.

I don't play 200nl but this is something I've seen from Jx in another 200nl video on a euro site (ipoker?). I'm not sure why people are doing it but I think it's because people are bet 3b'ing draws far too often here. I'm guessing you don't play very tight so he views you as pretty aggro based on hud stats or reads from other hands.

this turn hits his calling range on the flop and enables em to continue one way or another so he doenst really have that many bluffs in his range. It blows but they have it most of the time here if u have this specific read on em.

U said u thought he would let u bluff rivers instead of raising the turn but this board is so drawy that most people get worried about scarecards rolling off that they usually end up raising the turn if they didnt raise the flop, a very common line.
