Default Shot @ 100NL - Turn Decision and Plan 4 River?

Villain is 25/20 over only 25 hands. I have took a shot at 100NL and am not long into the session.

Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 901600
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

UTG: $250.05
MP: $303.20
Hero (CO): $117.25
BTN: $113.45
SB: $100.50
BB: $247.95

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is CO with Q A
UTG raises to $3.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $3.50, 1 fold, SB calls $3, 1 fold

Flop: ($11.50) 6 7 9 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($11.50) 2 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero ????

Here should we be betting because we are likely ahead and also wouldn't mind thinning the field with an intention to get to cheap showdown heads up vs 1 opponent (or maybe give up if he bets).

Or should we just be giving up (or at least trying to get to a cheap showdown) and thus a turn bet is not necessary?

Thanks.

If we bet here I think we might have to bet the river as the sb will have hands that won't be folding to one bet so I'd be tempted to check back.

the same sentiments go for a flop bet, utg is mostly c/f this flop so it's the sb that you need to be worried about.

It's probably going to take at least 2 bets to move him off 88, JT, 78 etc so if you're not prepared to bet 3 I would just take a showdown

Tbh I don't think if I bet the turn either of them will fold a hand like 88 on the river to 1 more bet. My reasoning for betting is that I actually think at the minute I am ahead a decent % of the time (given action - which I wasn't confident of on the flop because obv we have less info).

So my bet is partly for value, but also for protection. I think given their likely range, a card coming the river is likely to help at least one of them.

I basically feel if I take it down now that's awesome, if both call I can shut down, and if 1 calls I can reevaluate based on river card, time to call on the turn, time to act on the river, etc.

Agree w/ this, on the flop you can way more credibly rep hands.

My thoughts were that it didn't really matter what I was repping because of the board texture (it is likely to hit my opponents range more than mine, and if they no this can bluff raise me very profitably putting me in a tough spot). By checking back I do have showdown value and can gain more information on the turn based on the turn card and their subsequent action.

Thoughts on this thinking?

I would rather bet the flop than the turn. Utg is probably c/f this board. SB is probably c/f a decent amount of time, too. Since the turn is a blank, anything they call the flop with if you had bet, they are most likely calling the turn with. Bet the flop, check back the turn and decide what to do once you have seen all five cards.

This flop is pretty good for your range in my opinion. Worst for utg. You shuould have a perceived range of sc and pps and a few suited Aces, broadways

Ok so b/f flop is probably standard, but as played I bet $7.25 on the turn and the SB virtually SNAP-raises to $22.45 which IMO is so f strange do yall not think?

I mean, wtf is he checking the flop AND the turn which is raising for value on this card here??

Also, the timing, the fact it was basically an insta-raise, and the size too? I mean that's a pretty weird size don't ya think (it's a bit large IMO)? It's like a raise for protection, but everything that should be protecting here is betting big on the flop and/or turn.

So although we only have A high, should we still call because he is virtually repping nothing and it's so f fishy wot he's doing?
