Re: is this spewy?
i dont mind starting my bluff on the flop. its a board i raise a lot since my range will be Jx, 55-QQ, any straight draw. any flush draw. 67. overs with backdoor draws like KTdd.
take a look at villians VPIP/PFR from UTG. punch that into pokerstove. then figure out what % of that range is going to continue vs a raise on this board. if he is LAG, there isnt much he can continue with OOP and being 150BB deep. not to mention you can barrel him off another good chunk of his range on a lot of turns.
3 betting this preflop is overrepping our hand. just because we are ahead of his range doesnt mean we have to 3 bet it. if we are ahead, which we are the vast majority of the time, we are going to make money postflop using position.
i like how you played it. and villian never ever has a set given turn action. i guess if you put him on an overpair this line 'might' fold him off an overpair. but thats really villian dependent and frankly pretty optimistic. i think he had some marginal one pair hand on the turn that is calling to see what you do on the river. or something like AK/AQ/KQ that is too stubborn to fold.
