very solid sir. do you think checking behind so many middle pair hands lets your opponents fire any turn so often that it could make it bad (along with skewing your flop range more towards air), or are you planning on making adjustments if a MP hand like 87 on T73fd gets shown down?

I like watching HU vids, because I'm trying to become a solidish HU player, so I enjoyed the vid.. hope to see more HU from you in the future

One thing I noticed during the video was you checking behind marginal hands with some showdown value on the flop. I thought this was a kinda transparant. Looks like the villain on the left table exploited this by firing 2 barrels on the turn and river, where you had to fold the river at least 3 times.

When watching other video's I noticed that other instructors where betting a lot of middle pairs too.

I haven't really got a question, but Id like to hear some thoughts on this

well, the first things that come to mind are that most people don't raise 100% of hands on the button. therefore, they likely get played back at less on the flop. so to counter the fact that i often get played back at on the flop i have to check behind more, with both air and made hands. to protect my flop checks with air where i'll be delayed cbetting or sometimes just giving up, i have to have a range that balances with that so i can't be easily exploited.

even though people don't often exploit other peoples exploitive tendencies, this is one instance where i feel like even the most stubborn opponents will catch on. additionally, the reason i'm checking behind these hands is because my opponent realizes how wide my range to get to the flop with is, so he is at least marginally competent. when playing vs donks who are only playing their hands i'm definitely not going to balance my check behind range nearly as much.

last but not least, your point about villain exploiting me by betting the turn and river and i had to fold at least 3 times - i'm not always going to be folding the river, clearly if he constantly fires two barrels i'm going to start looking him up lighter. also, this is quite a small sample and while he may have made me fold 3 times when he bet the turn and river, this is a rather meaningless statistic because there could have been 15 other hands where he bet the turn and checked the river signifying he is not willing to 2 barrel bluff in these sitautions often enough to where i can call the river profitably.
