Re: aejones ft. Ansky - $1,000 NL
This is like reading 20 High Stakes 2+2 threads of 14 pages each within the hour. I am fucked up by all the info I got. Gonna watch it again tomorrow. Compliments and get Ansky to join Leggo asap.

Re: aejones ft. Ansky - $1,000 NL
I personally agreed with ansky about 95% of the time...
I love Jones, but he needs to be by himself...
(BTW 566 board, aces def could fold to that line, I think AEJones is a bit delusional. )

Re: aejones ft. Ansky - $1,000 NL
idk if you're ever coming back to reply in this thread but in the very end ansky opens A4dd MP and gets flatted by BTN, decides to c/f J95ss but delayed c-bets on Ts turn - why is this bet good ? we have like absolutely no equity, we can't rep much and will often get peeled by some pair + spade or whatever hands and the only reason why i could see this being a good play is because no one would ever expect us to bluff like that (but this rarely justifies a play, in my mind at least)

Without thinking much about it or much about exactly what was said, I would agree generally you are correct. 55 will just play easier even if its relatively hit or miss.

I honestly don't remember the spot or what was said specifically. I am thinking that we can rep some PC'd-type stuff that hits that turn, or something that went for a weird check-raise, but more than that, I am guessing that our opponent does not have a hand that can stand two bets, given that he checked back the flop. That is the catch-22 of checking back in spots like that, you get the PC you want but you also identify your hand as (usually) one that does not want to stand a lot of heat. Checking back 98 there, if you're the person who flatted the button, is probably seen as "correct" (although certainly not best if PFR is never CR'ing), but when the turn is a T, and your opponent bets, the turn plays itself-- but unimproved, the river is so much trickier.
Also, we can't really have air-air type stuff, we are the PFR from MP, so at worst we've got like overs or a spade or both and we get him to fold 66 and shit, right?

dude I love your bloated ego personality and all, but saying that being able to beat 5/10 is not really proving much or is easy is really a slap in the face to 95% of your audience. please dont work these kinds of comments into your cocky personality. it is never cool or funny to anyone and makes you less likeable.

Re: aejones ft. Ansky - $1,000 NL
not quite understanding the allin on the flop with the A5 of clubs hand after the opponent commits himself with the fd. its a situation you can get away relatively cheap
theres 0 fold equity and as is even if hes doing this mega lite or just going putzo for some unknown reason your never ahead by much yet can be drawing almost dead legitimately.
the only reason i could think of making this play is to get paid off later in the session when i really do have something and am not just goofing off

it was like 41 mins in, i have a feeling you probably would not have played it the same way as Ansky. i really believe what you said was true about that being a fd so often, when he pot commits himself on the flop.
if he were to have k10 of hearts thats a lot of outs to fade with the assumption he is never doing this with any PP or a 7.
what would you have done instead here?

Re: aejones ft. Ansky - $1,000 NL
this is a weird hand and i feel like it happens pretty rarely in today's games. i don't think people try to raise this board with strong hands or air-- they would rather just keep their range wider in general. i might choose to raise a strong hand or a bluff though depeneding on the dynamic (I would never choose to raise a hand like 99 or TT and i would never choose to raise a hand like QThh). stacks are good for it. he has to commit a lot for a bluff even if he's just clicking it back.
we don't have good equity vs flush draws. i'd guess juts over 40% against unpaired hearts. straight draws further complicate. maybe we have enough to get it in, but we are SKULLFUCKED sometimes, and that is bad.
my standard is obviously to fold the flop, but i dont' hate bluff raising. the dynamic, my opponents' wwsf would dictate if i continued after a flop 3bet. in this case if i bluff raised, i'd probably just raise fold fearing that my opponent could be leveling me and playing something good strong (hell, he could jus think i have enough fds or air or w/e to 3-bet QQ and get it in, bc it'l sure be hard to play oop if he just calls).
fact is this hand was ambitious, but it was a lot easier to be ambitious in 2009 .
