Default thac - $50 NL (Part 1/2)

Video Description: In this video Trevor plays 2 tables of $50 NL 6-Max on Full Tilt while abusing the button and making reads against fish. By playing 70% of his hands from the button, Trevor demonstrates how to take down pots by abusing his positional advantage without making strong hands.

A lot of interesting post-flop spots. One minor thing that I noticed is when you open on the button and there is a short stack (< 25BBs) in the blinds, it's more +EV to min-raise since so many of them are going to shove/fold, and postflop the SPR is small enough anyhow.

Looking forward to your next video!

I remember when I made one of my micro videos, I realized (and repeated) how easy it is to do stuff like raise preflop and c-bet on good boards to c-bet on and win money that way at the micro stakes (obviously you have to learn stackoff ranges as well). Anyways, that was cemented as a great strategy in my deep run in the PCA-- I had forgotten how level one NLHE was sometimes.

Positionpositionpositionpositionposition... did I spell that correctly every time?

Watching it now.

Really dislike the calls (both the pre flop and flop) with 95s about 20 minutes in. The guy betting is short, and he'll shove any turn, plus you are dominated by stronger draws a lot. Your explanation that the fish will often overcall, thus giving you better odds than it seems does have some merit, but I think a 9 higg draw is just to weak to call in that spot.

40 minutes in you 3b K8s from the SB against a BTN open. He calls and the flop comes 656 with your flush draw. In that situation you talk about the concept of getting the last bet in, and explain the line you opt to take. What do you think about check/raising, even check/shoving in that spot? People tend to auto cbet when they get checked in to in a 3bet pot, so you get a bet from him and I would think your fold equity is much bigger than when he raises your bet.

Good video, really liked it.

Thanks for the comments and I appreciate the compliment. The 95s I do normally fold and when I talked about the video with a friend after it came out, we decided the same thing as you: we're gonna be dominated a decent amount of the time. I do think it's close and I started leaning toward a fold the more I discussed it.

Regarding the k8s, I don't think I like check-raising without knowing that he'll bet. I don't like assuming that people will auto-bet when checked to, but I know that there's a good chance he'll fold when I bet, he can't check behind. If he checks behind, I can't rep much on the turn and it makes my equity a lot worse when we get to the turn.

Second one of ur vids I've watched now and will defo be checking out some more. Excellent insight into analysing a player and adjusting, mention no French names but I share ur feelings

Thought it was very interesting that the blinds primarily stayed passive to ur relentless button raises without once testing you, maybe that changed in part 2.
