Default The_End - $1,000 NL

Denny plays high stakes 6-Max on Stars while talking about playing vs. regulars and suggests alternative lines for 'standard' hands.

I notice you c/r OOP over 4x (4.25x with that QT and 4x with another hand I don't remember). Is this your standard, and if not, how do you decide how big to go? My std was so far always like 3x OOP and 2,5x IP, but since I do it more often for value OOP (microstakes), maybe I should also make it atleast 4x from now on go get maximum value when I do have a valuehand, and increase FE when I have a bluff. What do you think?

It was on river, with a lot of money left. Bet river was 80 if I remember correct after flop and turn chk chk, so guess there was a minraise indeed. Tnx dougie

you bet the river with Kings and 9's on a coordinated board. do you think there is a lot of calls in his range that you still beat after making the last bet?

I don't unerstand why the ace is such a bad card to barrel on 26:00 with your double gutter. There are two fds you can represent on the river and your real outs are very nicely hidden so it seems really nice spot to get him off anything less than an ace and getting value when you actually hit your hand. And also I don't see the ace hitting him that much other than A4s, A3s, A5s, A8s and maybe Ad9x.

Hey Student,

The bigger sizing on the river is because the pot is still quite small (turn ch/ch) and I decided that his range is sort of inelastic with regards to my c/r. In that spot I want my range to be more weighted towards valuehands, simply because I don't think people will fold that often. (They put you on Ace high that turn their hand into a bluff because our range is nutted and his isn't)

So because of that, I decided to make it bigger.

On microstakes, against decent regulars, I think it is optimal to c/r, with a range spread around 50/50 between bluffs and valuehands. These are numbers I just produced out of thin air, but it's how I would approach it. I think they would fold a bit too often because they aren't used to turning Ax (or 66) into a bluff like this.
