Default Tournament Preparation

What's the best preparation a cash game player can do to get ready for the ME?

great question, id like to hear some opinions on this as well...

I'll just play a bunch of online tourneys and read the MTT forums a week before I go to Vegas. I'd like some suggestions on how to prepare to the long hours we will be at the tables.

seriously, no preparation is required. just make sure you can be fresh for 14 hour sessions if necessary. if you're not used to playing live, make sure you know how to count pot size/stack size.

there is very little adjusting from cash to WSOP ME since it has a pretty deep (and awesome) structure.

Playing 13 hours live is like 2 hours online and requires less thought.

The time will go pretty fast live, even if you folded the last two hours. I suggest you play a couple of tournament in a casino to kind of warm up with the chipcounting and maybe not get nervous when on a hand. That way you will be less scared to pull out bluffs in a big event. Once you figure is the same game you use to play... you won't have any problem, and people suck big time on the casinos.

read harrington on holdem, and get some live experience...

if you have already played a fair bit of live cash it's still worth trying to play some sort of live tourney before the main event, as nothing is really quite the same as a live tournament (people are just absolutely terrified to ever pull a move because of

a) not wanting to look stupid in front of other people and

b) not wanting to end their tournament experience by going out on a bad bluff, they want to be able to tell their friends they went out with queens or ace king etc)
