3-2-1Busto left his job as a software engineer, to play games and gamble ridiculously large sums of money. Oh and he has a wife and two kids.
Long Version:
I'm 32 years old, but a relative new comer to the world of high stakes poker. I've been playing poker for fun since June of 2005 and seriously since September of 2006, when I made my last deposit of $500 to Full Tilt Poker under the user name 3-2-1BuStO. I had made a deal with my wife that were I lose this money I would never play poker again. At the time I was employed by Symantec Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer, and my wife was hoping I would lose it quickly.
Less than a month later, the UIGEA passed and the games became much tougher practically overnight. Despite the stiffer competition, I moved up quickly through the limits.
By July of 2007 I was unhappy with many aspects of my job and had earned more money playing poker part time than from working over the previous 3 months. Amazingly enough, my wife saw how much I loved the game, and how seriously I had taken it. It was actually her that encouraged me to leave my job, and support my two boys (ages 1 and 4) playing poker full time.
By October of 2007, just one year after the UIGEA passing, I had increased his stakes by a hundred fold, from $.25/$.50 no-limit hold’em to $25/50. I was the only player I am aware of that was grinding microstakes No Limit at the time, who was beating the tough PokerStars $25/$50 game in that time frame. (I play on PokerStars as dd323)
Although I am primarily an internet player, I also have had much success playing live, and can frequently be found in the biggest No Limit games running at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
