Started playing 1/2 NL live games in the Chicago/Lake Michigan area casino's about 6ish yrs ago (Moneymaker boom). Worked my way up to my current regular games @ 2/5 and 5/5 deep/ante... ocassionally 5/10 when the lineup is soft/game runs.
Have had a few forays into the online games w/ little success. I have no problem admitting I'm a losing player online. Probably b/c I'm a consistent winner live. But for whatever reason the transition has not been linear. And it does bother me.
For me the live games are just much easier to beat. I'm not a solid math player. I have a feel for the math/odds, etc., but I'm definitely a people player. An astute observer. I get people. I understand psychology, emotion, personality, ego, and when I can see, listen, talk to, engage, get to know people... I can generally figure them out and take their money.
Unfortunately the intangible benefits I gain at a live table are nonexsistent online. It really is a different game. One I am passionate about learning.
