Simon continues his series on playing deep by reviewing a $200 NL deep 6-max session. Simon covers scenarios for 3-betting in position, playing vs. 4-bets, perceived ranges vs. actual ranges, and playing creative lines that aren't possible w/ 100bb stacks.
Since u have been playing alot with sipinho urself a lot, can u elaborate on why u think u are excited about calling down with the 88 after calling the 3bet in position?
This obviously has to do with his overall 3bet range, wether its polarized or depolarized vs button opens out of the blinds and how often he s gonna barrel off with no equity hands.
I think that if he has any kind of good frequencies here u set urself up to get owned , and by frequencies I also mean hand selection.I think this is on what our decision should be based on.
I liked the pace of the vid, and think u do a really good job of covering alot of spots but still keep the action going alot.
Keep it up.GJ
i was trying to get sipinho to fold a Jack @ 6min mark :O. i think at nl200 he expects aj here 100%.
i dont call the turn with 88 because his semi bluffs have a ton of equity.
Id rather call turn with hands that i float (broadway hands), they have more equity.
i agree i played the 58/79 pretty badly.
my 3bet range @ deep tables(and 100bb) is alot more appropriate now, thx.

Well, Sipinho doesnt actually 3bet a ton vers button, and he also doesnt cbet a ton. On T25r, i think there are plently of reasons for him to be checking some valuehands, and there are plently of reasons for him to potcontrol on various streets (As he doesnt necessarily barrel a ton anyway, and we can still have every combo of 22,55,TT on the turn). So in addition to not calling down extremely light on our part, we can also easily have the nuts. All this takes out a lot of valuehands he might have, and because he doesnt cbet that much, i doubt he can ever have AK in this spot. So this only leaves KQs,KJs type hands, AA,KK,TT. On the other hand, if he can have KQ, he can also have AJ,QJ, probably some J9s,Q9s. He might even turn stuff like A5s into a bluff. Probably 88 isnt the best hand to call down with equity-wise, but i would still be hard-pressed to fold it here, as the actual-range vers perceived-range gap on this turn is huge (regarding Sipinhos range), which could easily take his bluffing-frequency thru the roof.
On a sidenote: I know for a fact that sipinho is a fancy into-a-bluff-turner in some spots.
So i would be calling down pretty light in the 88-hand, but talking about it now, probably hands like TJs or KQ would be slightly better hand-selection-wise.
Good to hear that you like the vid, hope this answered your question.
